ACUTE EXPOSURE INFORMATION

  1. ACUTE toxicity may occur by inhalation, dermal contact, or ingestion.
    1. Toxic effects may include limb weakness, dyspnea, a burning sensation in the eyes and throat, skin irritation, dizziness, impaired judgement, cyanosis, nausea and irregular breathing. Severe intoxication may be followed by abrupt loss of consciousness, seizures, pulmonary edema, respiratory arrest and death.
    1. Target organs following an acute toxic exposure are the gastrointestinal tract (bleeding), adrenals (hemorrhagic necrosis), brain (edema), and lungs (edema).
  1. CHRONIC exposure may be associated with headache, memory disturbance, dizziness, drowsiness, diminished hearing and vision, low blood pressure, decreased work capacity, weakness, poor sleep, irritability, chest pains, nausea, dermatitis, liver function abnormalities, and anemia.
