ACUTE EXPOSURE INFORMATION

  1. Phosphorus pentoxide reacts with water in the air or body to form phosphoric acid. It is an irritant and corrosive. Significant exposures can also cause metabolic acidosis, hyperphosphatemia and hypocalcemia. Similar effects would be expected from chronic exposure.
